I wanted to make a fireplace for a narrow space with a high mantle suitable to take a freestanding stove. I asked my daughter Síle who is an Art student at NCAD to design a centrepiece that was Celtic in origin and might appeal to people who had an interest in their Irish roots. The design is bsed on a piece of interlacing from the base of the Sam McGuire Cup (GAA)  Once designed I hand carved it onto the stone and this design can be made to any size to suit any stove application and is available in cream and grey Irish limestone.
